The motif features matsu (pine) and kiku (chrysanthemum)—two of Japan’s most auspicious symbols. Pine trees are known to live for centuries, making them a powerful metaphor for longevity and enduring strength. Chrysanthemums, celebrated as the flower of autumn and the imperial seal, evoke nobility and grace.

The design is a Rokutsuu-gara pattern, where only 60% of the obi’s length is decorated, traditionally meant to be visible when worn. The woven threads shimmer gently across a soft, subdued ground, adding a refined presence to any space.
