About Us

About " MUSUBI "

I want the world to discover the true beauty of Japan.

That beauty comes from the gifts of

our rich natural environment - a harmony of "gentleness and strength for life".

I am deeply moved by the artisans who embody both.

Through MUSUBI,

I travel to listen to their voices and to share their stories.

Concept

The emblem of MUSUBI is designed around a circular motif, symbolizing the bonds woven between people, objects, and time.
It also incorporates the shape of a crane with outstretched wings—an auspicious creature in Japanese culture, representing good fortune and longevity.

For its colors, we chose purple as the primary tone, inspired by the "Twelve Level Cap and Rank System" established by Prince Shōtoku, where purple represented the highest rank. Green serves as the secondary color, symbolizing vitality, growth, and renewal.

Through Japanese culture, MUSUBI seeks to create circles of connection—between people, between people and objects, and between people and time—carrying these bonds outward so that the beauty of Japanese tradition may continue to spread.

Connection

The Bond of People
I wish to connect the skills and spirit nurtured in Japan with people around the world.
Traditional culture, built upon the wisdom and experiences of our ancestors, must be passed on—carried from those who came before us to the generations yet to come.

The Bond of Objects
I want to preserve Japan’s cultural artifacts that have been handed down since ancient times. As fewer people remain to safeguard these treasures, they risk fading away. MUSUBI exists to carry their stories forward.

The Bond of Time
Japan holds a history that stretches back more than 2,700 years, to the enthronement of its first emperor, Jimmu. I wish to weave this long span of history into the present, so that it may be remembered and continue into the future.
